Upcoming Videos

Lots of exciting things happening here at Encultura! I've been busy filming and editing videos, and have a number of interviews lined up for February and March.

One of the upcoming videos will be a profile of Pop! Goes The World, "Canada's #1 kpop fanbase, event promoters, and DJs." I took footage at their Cosplayers Ball this past Saturday, and got exclusive interviews with the organizers, Gerald and Audrey, as well as the performers, Brian Seo and FrolicLassie. I will be filming again on March 1 at Pop's 1-year anniversary party. The finished video will be uploaded on YouTube around March 4 or 5.

In late February, I'll be interviewing three Chinese international students about their experiences in Canada. Big thanks to Bob Zhang at CUAUT who set this one up for me!

In March, I'll be profiling Meanwhile in China, which "brings you the very best of news from Greater China, be it strange, amusing, touching, sad, or informative." You may recognize Victoria Sung, co-founder of Meanwhile in China, who was in the video on how young newcomers celebrate Chinese New Year.

Last but not least, there will be videos involving food and kpop dancing (two of my favourite things :)

Stay tuned!

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is traditionally a time to get together with family and friends to eat, exchange gifts, and celebrate the holiday. But how do young newcomers in Toronto celebrate Chinese New Year, since they are away from home and in a different country?
